vs. SET Training

IST (Integrative Structural Therapy) - each of the four workshops are one weekend workshops which are a great first step to deep tissue therapy for therapists who wish to expand their skills and discover whether deep tissue therapy is the right pathway for them.  They can be taken as a single weekend workshop that will provide skills to treat one given area of the body, or any combination of four workshops that will provide excellent skills to treat many client complaints.  They are also a wonderful developmental step to the therapeutic techniques of Structural Energetic Therapy®.  These workshops present basic fundamental information, and are geared to the therapists looking for an introduction to effective deep tissue work that includes structural balancing, and not the therapists looking for the more advanced techniques taught in the 1-year SET Training. 
    (It is only after taking the 1-year SET Training that you qualify as a SET Therapist)

IST Cranial/Structural Core Distortion Releases I is a one weekend workshop in which you will learn specific Cranial/Structural techniques that will release the structural core distortion pattern found in over 90% of the population.  This distortion can be the cause of a majority of painful musculoskeletal conditions in the body.  Once this technique is applied successfully, the core distortion does not return! You will also learn kinesiology techniques to verify the core distortion in your clients, and then to confirm its release following the application of the Cranial/Structural Core Distortion Releases.  Also included in this workshop is a most effective cranial decompression sequence.  When these Cranial/Structural techniques are combined with the soft tissue techniques taught in the IST Workshops, your effectiveness in moving the body further into balance and facilitating the relief from painful conditions can multiply 10-fold!

SET Training is the Ultimate in Rehabilitative Therapy!  This is the ONE YEAR Training with two class options - either one weekend a month or 4 days every 2 months for the year.  It is geared to the therapist who is interested in mastering advanced deep tissue techniques and skills that are integrated throughout the training with the Cranial/Structural Releases that make this work so powerful! You will learn detailed protocols developed by Don McCann to rehabilitate painful conditions of the low back, head, neck and shoulder areas, and nerve entrapment symptoms of the shoulder, arm and hands, as well as addressing painful conditions of the foot and leg, hiatal hernias, TMJ, and so much more.  You will also be able to take your clients through the process of unwinding through various sub-patterns resulting from the core distortion and its compensations found in the structure and soft tissue restrictions throughout the body and cranium.

The skills and techniques that you will learn are advanced forms of deep tissue and Cranial/Structural Therapy - you need only to have graduated from a 500 hour massage therapy program and be willing to commit to an incredible one-year journey of personal growth and expansion of skills.  Therapists who are currently enrolled in the SET Training are referred to as SET Practitioners.  After completing their training they are known as SET Therapists.  Following certification, they will earn the title of Certified SET Therapist.
